J.E. Hill Awarded $4.5 Million Contract To Provide J-J Hooks Highway Barriers For I-595 Improvement Project In South Florida120,000 Linear Feet of Barrier To Protect Workers, Drivers Throughout 4 ½ Year Project Midland, Va. - J.E. Hill Precast, manufacturer of the J-J Hooks barrier connection system, has announced its involvement in a major highway improvement project along I-595 in South Florida. J.E. Hill, headquartered in Leesburg, Fla., will provide 120,000 linear feet of precast concrete barrier featuring the proprietary J-J Hooks connection system to fulfill a contract worth more than $4.5 million. The four-and-a-half-year project will improve driving conditions along I-595 and preserve the future vitality of Broward County’s major east-west corridor at a cost of approximately $1.25 billion.
Production
of the barrier began in December at the company’s Ft. Lauderdale,
Fla.., plant, and delivery began Feb. 22. According to J.E. Hill President
and CEO Wylie Hill, the plant will produce approximately 2,500 linear
feet of barrier per week and could deliver quantities up to 6,000 linear
feet per day when needed.
