Capitol 4th of July celebration
featured J-J Hooks barrier
MIDLAND, Va. –Concrete
Safety Systems™, which rents J-J Hooks concrete barriers, provided
1,320 linear feet of precast concrete security barrier to the National
Park Service in Washington, D.C. for their Independence Day celebration.
The barrier was used to control vehicles and pedestrians and to provide
security for people attending the event.
Concrete Safety Systems (CSS) was the sole provider of concrete barriers
for this year’s festivities, as they have been for the past few
years. Barriers were placed in various locations around D.C.
including the Mall, the Washington Monument and near the Capitol. Installation
occurred on the night of June 28 to minimize disruption to traffic
and tourists. The barrier was picked up after the celebration
on the night of July 5th.
The J-J Hooks barrier connection system has been crash tested to National
Cooperative Highway Research Program 350 standards. Self-aligning,
identical ended J-J Hook connectors allow for quick, easy installation
of the barrier. There is no loose hardware, permitting a single
section to be easily removed without disturbing adjacent sections and
eliminating the possibility of lost, stolen or damaged parts. This
is important for easy emergency access and protection against tampering
and vandalism. J-J Hooks can be used as a temporary or
permanent barrier system. For more information, visit www.JJHooks.com.
